Using celebrities as advertisments for selling clothes

This Old Navy commercial is using a popular rapper in order to help the clothing items sell. It attracts the Hip Hop community and younger generation into buying these items that the rapper is wearing. It also attracts people of different ethnic groups by making them aware that, they too, are welcomed to buy clothing from this store. Do you think this commercial is successful in attracting individuals into buying items from this store? I think it definitely did the job. People can now buy the clothing, thinking it is "cool" to wear since Lil Kim is wearing it.
